Over £100,000 awarded to community projects by Police & Crime Commissioner

In April 2019 Dafydd Llywelyn, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dyfed-Powys launched a funding programme – The Commissioner’s Community Fund – whereby grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 were available to groups and organisations across Dyfed-Powys.

Applications were invited from voluntary and community organisations, as well as the public and private sectors, for projects which will have a positive impact on the security and safety of local communities and successful projects had to reflect the Commissioner’s key priorities: Keeping our communities’ safe, safeguarding the vulnerable, protecting our communities from serious threats, and connecting with communities.

60 applications were received from a variety of organisations across Powys, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Dafydd Llywelyn said: “Many thanks to all who applied for working so hard on their submissions to the funding programme.

I am pleased to say that 18 applications were successful, and that I will be awarding a total of £117,554 to these important projects. I look forward to seeing the difference the grants make within our communities.

The projects, initiatives and schemes to receive grants will be announced publicly later this month. Keep an eye on my website and on social media for more details: http://www.dyfedpowys-pcc.org.uk/en/the-commissioner/commissioners-community-funding/
