The role of the External Funding Manager is focussed on proactively identifying external funding opportunities in support of the implementation of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan priorities. The role is responsible for driving innovation and acts as a conduit to support transfer of knowledge within the Commissioner’s Office and the Force.
What do you find most enjoyable about your role?
I enjoy how diverse the role is, there’s not one piece of work that’s the same and all the projects I work on are different which leads me to become involved in many different areas of work, plus I get a real insight into how operational policing works on the ground.
How long have you been in post?
I first started working for Dyfed Powys Police in 2008 and when the PCC’s came into post, my role was transferred over to the OPCC.
What did you do before joining the Commissioner’s Team?
Before starting my role in the Force, I worked for a National Charity developing projects and sourcing sustainable funding to allow the charity to continue to develop national projects and provide services to the communities of Wales.
