What I Do

I was elected by the public of Dyfed-Powys to be your voice and to keep you safe. I secure and spend around £95m of taxpayer money every year to do that – and I am accountable to you.

I listen to you and – based on your needs – set the priorities for policing and crime prevention.

I am independent of the police but the Chief Constable is accountable to me. I scrutinise his work formally at the Policing Accountability Board. We work together and make decisions at weekly Policing Board meetings.

I raise policing funds, set the force budget, employ the Chief Constable and work with other organisations to tackle crime. Some services are specially commissioned. Here’s detail of some current projects.

I provide help to crime victims and issue community grants. My staff can help you understand my work, finances and policies as well as other criminal justice matters.

Please tell me what you need to feel safe. To get in touch use this simple form or contact me in the way that best suits you.
