Inspiring the Next Generation of Volunteers
Staff from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dyfed-Powys recently attended two university careers events to promote our rewarding volunteer opportunities to local students.
On 24 September, our team took part in the University of Wales Trinity Saint David careers event I Swansea, where we showcased the important role volunteers play in supporting policing and community safety across the region. Students were keen to learn more about schemes such as our Independent Custody Visitors, Youth Ambassadors and Animal Welfare Visitors.
This was followed by a visit to Aberystwyth University on 15 October, where we again met enthusiastic students looking to gain experience, support their communities and develop valuable skills through volunteering.
Our volunteers play a vital role in promoting transparency, accountability and public engagement in policing, and events like these help us connect with future leaders who want to make a positive difference in the Dyfed-Powys area.
Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn said:
“ Its great to see students taking an interest in volunteering and learning more about how they can support policing and community safety across the Dyfed-Powys area.”
Students interested in taking part in any of our volunteer opportunities can find out more and apply via our website: Dyfed-Powys Police & Crime Commissioner
