PCC Funded Projects and Volunteers Shine at the Safer Communities Awards 2025
Police and Crime Commissioner ( PCC) Llywelyn and his office are celebrating significant success at the Safer Communities Awards 2025, with PCC funded initiatives, PCC supported organisations and an OPCC Youth Ambassador all recognised for their outstanding contribution to community safety, safeguarding and early intervention.
The PCC and Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Dyfed Powys received two national category wins and one highly commended recognition, alongside additional wins for Dyfed-Powys Police.
Category Winners
- Early Intervention -Award Winner: Bradley Cole, Youth Ambassador
Bradley, one of the OPCC’s Youth Ambassadors, received the national Early Intervention Award for his exceptional work championing young people’s voices and contributing to safer communities across the Dyfed-Powys area. - Tackling Mental Health Together- Winner: Together we Can
Together we Can, funded and supported by the OPCC won its category for its innovative partnership approach to mental health awareness, wellbeing and early intervention across the Dyfed-Powys area. - Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence- Winner: Paladin National Stalking Advocacy Service
Paladin commissioned and supported through PCC funding, received the VAWDASV Award for its work supporting young people at the risk of exploitation and serious violence,
Highly Commended
- Creative and Community Support- Highly Commended: Aeron Arts (Ceredigion)
Aeron Arts, which receives OPCC funding to support victims and survivors through therapeutic art, engagement was highly commended at this year’s awards.
Special Mention: Dyfed Powys Police Successes
Dyfed-Powys Police also enjoyed access on the night with;
- Operation Scotney – Winner, for protecting older and vulnerable people from fraud scams.
- PCSO Anna Bowen- Winner, in the Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour category.
Both demonstrate the strong partnership working between the OPCC and the force in delivering safer communities.
